Izzat, the designer

Back when I was a wee lad, I don’t even know what ‘design’ meant.

All I remember was I used to draw all the time. Some time later, I created my own superheroes inspired by the loads of Marvel/DC comics I read at the time. Along with a couple of classmates in primary school, we made up our own batch of comics. Needless to say, our teachers were less than pleased with our little venture.

Going through high school, I held on to my fancy for drawing – truth be told, I’m nowhere near greatness when it comes to art, yet the love lingers on.

Gradually, that took a backseat to my newly-blossomed love for martial arts. This love turned into a stormy affair later on in my life…well, that’s a tale for another day.

1997: Banking solely on my ‘art skills’, I enrolled in Multimedia University (it was known as Universiti Telekom back then). Things didn’t quite work out for me, and after two years…I left. It wasn’t all bad – a great experience for me and some long-lasting friendships were forged.

Late 1999: still dazed, I entered The One Academy of Communication Design.

After a less-than-stellar stint in animation, I switched my major to Advertising & Graphic Design where I’m finally at ease. Met some great people along the way…you know who you are.

On April Fool’s Day of 2003, I became an employee of InternetNow Sdn Bhd, where I remained to this day. As the resident graphics guy, I worked on in-house graphic design solutions for InternetNow, and occasionally developing websites for our clients.

In the middle of September, 2006 – Izzmedia is online. Finally, after so many years of waiting, planning and craving…this site is unleashed to the world.

These days, I’m moving further into the web development territory – and I used to hate any kind of coding! Go figure. And, in the near future, I’m looking forward to delve into photography…that is, once I get my hands on my dream digital camera.

And perhaps pick up that pencil, and draw my superheroes once more.
